Watch as Dr. Steven Haas and Prof Richard Komistek present on the design, in-vivo kinematics and patient performance of JOURNEY II TKA in this 2-part video.

Part 1: Achieving Better Patient Outcomes with Improved TKA Function

Dr. Steven Haas, Hospital for Special Surgery

Dr. Steven Haas discusses the limitations of today’s knee designs and the need for a new total knee design that better replicates the normal anatomy of the knee. He states how this design philosophy can lead to better patient satisfaction and performance.

Dr. Haas then introduces the design of JOURNEY II which reproduces the shapes and positions of the normal, healthy knee. He explains how these design concepts lead to more normal knee kinematics and discusses the published data behind JOURNEY II that shows how the JOURNEY II design is improving the lives of patients.

Part 2: In Vivo Kinematics of the Operated Knee: State of Arthroplasty in 2021

Professor Richard Komistek, University of Tennessee

Professor Richard Komistek has spent years studying and researching the kinematics of the normal knee and today’s total knee designs and how they differ. In this video, he explains the kinematics throughout the range of motion of the normal knee and the JOURNEY II TKA system. His research concludes that the kinematic patterns of the JOURNEY II knee is very similar to the normal knee.
