This fractures have a high non-union rate with non operative treatment, thus surgical treatment has become the standard therapeutic option for this challenging problem.  On this video we describe in detail our surgical technique combining compression plating and tension band technique.
This double fixation system makes the final construct far stronger than each technique separately increasing greatly the chances of achieving a solid callus and secondarily excellent pain relief and restoration of the pre-existing shoulder mobility.
