read more ↘ study, we proposed the first ISO evaluation of accuracy in bone tumor surgery assisted by 3D printing and navigation, involving more than 20 orthopaedic surgeons, and assessed quantitatively an equivalent value-added of both PSI and navigation technologies in terms of the achieved surgical margins during simulated bone tumor resections. A number of patients underwent successful operations. Although follow-up is not yet sufficient to establish a correlation with oncological outcomes (e.g. the risk of local recurrence), the observed data showed that bone cuts were performed with very good accuracy when compared with the desired safe margins.
