We describe the indications, insurance considerations, complete vs. selective hand injections, and stepwise technique for proper dilution and injection of Botulinum Toxin to treat acute hand and digit ischemia.
8 total injection sites - 6 on the volar/palmar hand for the thumb and common digital arteries, with 2 additional injections for the radial and ulnar arteries at the wrist.
100 units total Botulinum injected - 1cc each at the 6 volar/palmar hand sites, 2cc each over the radial and ulnar arteries
