PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This one day symposium incorporates diverse lectures and speakers across a wide variety of important sepsis topics to enhance learner competency and performance, with the goal of improving patient care.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals involved in sepsis management and care

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
• Review evidence-based sepsis management
• Discuss the measures for optimizing management throughout the sepsis continuum for enhancing sepsis recovery
• Explore new therapies and biomarkers in sepsis care

EDUCATIONAL METHODS
Didactic Lectures, Panel Discussion, Question and Answer Sessions

EVALUATION METHOD
Evaluation by questionnaire will address program content, presentation, and possible bias.

 

Accreditation and Credit Designation

PHYSICIANS
Houston Methodist is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Houston Methodist designates this live activity for a maximum 7.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

NURSES
Houston Methodist is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Houston Methodist will award 7.16 Nursing Continuing Professional Development contact hours for this activity. Participants must attend the activity in its entirety and complete the continuing education evaluation.

RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS
Credit has been applied through the Continuing Respiratory Education (CRCE) system of the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).

PHYSICAL THERAPISTS/PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANTS
This activity has been approved by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for 7.50 CCUs for PTs and PTAs.
