This review course will summarize highlights from the national meetings, with a focus on the clinical implications of the new information presented at these meetings.
TARGETED AUDIENCE
Medical oncologists, breast surgeons, radiation oncologists, women's health, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, residents and fellows and other health care providers with an interest in the management of patients with breast cancer should attend this course.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
- Summarize information relevant to the surgical management of breast cancer.
- Review current information on the hormonal management of breast cancer.
- Discuss novel targets in the therapy of breast cancer and their clinical implications including the role of conventional chemotherapy and of novel combinations involving conventional chemotherapy.
- Identify emerging radiation techniques and the status of these techniques in the care of patients with breast cancer.
- Review current risk prediction methods and prevention strategies.
