OVERVIEW
This course is a mixture of interactive microscopy and didactic lectures. Hot topics like practical implications of endometrial carcinoma molecular classification, updates on ovarian carcinoma subclassification, and challenging topics like mucinous ovarian neoplasms will be covered. Interactive microscopy sessions include commonly seen lesions as well as more esoteric entities including mesenchymal tumors of the gyn tract. The program syllabus is provided to the audience before the conference and recordings of the sessions are available for attendees after the conference. The course features didactic lectures, with opportunities for questions and discussion, and presentations of illustrative and challenging cases.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is intended for practicing pathologists (attendings) or fellows, especially those with a subspecialty interest in gynecologic pathology.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
• Demonstrate the correct diagnosis and the reasoning used to arrive at it.
• Assess the need for molecular methods and integrate the result of testing into their diagnoses.
• Outline learner strategy for difficult cases.
